Maintenance Engineer, Rotating Equipment
Description: This position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, within the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate is expected to troubleshoot, facilitate root cause failure analysis, develop economic analysis and drive recommendations to affect a safe start-up and operation of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers etc.)
Experience: Ten (10) + years experience minimum in the area of rotating equipment repair/maintenance in the Petrochemical Industry. Five (5) years experience minimum required in reliability/troubleshooting of rotating equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform failure analysis on equipment to determine corrective actions and drive design changes as necessary to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as a technical resource to Engineering for specification review and development.
- Provide Operations with engineering/troubleshooting support during equipment start-up as necessary.
- Serve as technical resource to Operations when evaluating the operational impact on equipment health as well as operational impact from changes to equipment health, operation, and design.
- Support Maintenance with repair scope definition and troubleshooting.
- Witness repair shop inspections and new equipment commissioning as necessary.
Certifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Vibration Institute Level II a plus
Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel required
Familiarity with Microsoft Access, SAP a plus
Remarks: Candidate should have a working knowledge of API codes affecting rotating equipment and must be a team player/able to work with individuals in other departments to improve repair procedures, equipment design, and overall reliability. Candidate must be customer focused and self motivated to meet group goals along with personal goals.
Operating: Works approximately 20% of time in office environment and Environment: 80% of time in field or shop.
